The Creation Window
The opening words of Holy Scripture became more meaningful and relevant to millions of
people when Astronaut Neil Armstrong, awed by the majesty of space as he circled the moon,
proclaimed on Christmas Eve 1968:
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... God created man in the
image of Himself, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created
them." Gen 1:1, 27.
In this CREATION window the hand of God touches the hand of man; God breathes into him the
breath of life and man becomes a living soul. In this act of creation man is made to God's
image and likeness and, as a result, man can come to know his Creator and respond to Him
in praise and thanksgiving.
