The Healing
Christ Window
Our Lord's work was by no means confined to teaching. Throughout His whole ministry Jesus
found sick people wherever He went. He felt compassion for them and this pity called forth
His power to heal. The miracles of healing anticipate in some measure the state of
perfection which human nature will recover in its glorified state.
This window was placed after the Pentecost window to remind us that Christ continues to
heal in the world today. As He, during His life on earth, "went about doing good and
healing," (Acts 10:38), so today, especially through the Sacraments, He continues to
heal. Holy Church obeys His command to cure the sick (Mk 16:18) through the Sacrament of
Anointing.
