As the plans for the new
church began to take shape, there was a growing interest in a general use of stained
glass. There was also the conviction that the windows should "speak" rather
easily to children and adults alike. The theme "GOD'S CONTINUING PRESENCE AMONG HIS
PEOPLE," was selected for the sixteen windows that portray in word and symbol many of
the events and mysteries of our Holy Faith, beginning with "CREATION" and ending
with "THE CHURCH IN THE WORLD TODAY." Each window is rich in symbols and each
one is briefly explained in the following pages. With this explanation the reader is
encouraged to move from window to window and experience the wisdom of God in teaching us
through the use of symbols.
