Back to School Luau!

Soana, Fifita, Bessie, and Loraine
This year's Back to School Luau was the best one yet! Included was
everything you need at a Luau: a live band, dancers, a fire-eater, and tons of food,
including a roasted pig! Fita Hola took charge and performed several dances with her
sisters Soana and Bessie, and cousin Loraine. In the band was her uncle
Sikana, and
his family, Sikana Jr., Josephine, and Sean. Providing food were Fita's parents,
Silia and Sione, and more of her family. The dancers performed both Tahitian and
Hawaiian dances. We all received a special treat when Sean came out and amazed us by
eating fire and then twirling the stick of fire all around.
Before the night could really get going, the core team had to snap Eric
out of European mode and get back to being in America. After a dance from the core
girls, Eric was only in Canadian mode, so the guys had to come out and strut their stuff.
It worked and then the real Eric was back. Later in the night, the dancers
tried to give Jason, Eric, Damien, and Fr. Jim a lesson in dancing. The guys proved
that the dancing should definitely be left up to the professionals.
