We started the day off by attending our last Catechesis session at
SS. Salvador Do Mundo with Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua presiding. The topic was
reconciliation. After that we bussed downtown Toronto to eat lunch at a place called
Harvey's. One of their special meals is something called Poutine with is a combination of
french fries, gravy and cheese. After lunch our group split up - some of us traveled to
the Exhibition grounds, some toured the local museum to view Vatican artifacts, art and
relics; and some of us wondered the streets of downtown Toronto. Then we all met each
other in a park with a couple of other WYD pilgrims and watched an acoustic performance of
Soul Pigeons, featuring - one again - Mike W. It was a lot of fun. After the concert we
walked the streets, grabbed dinner from various local restaurants, and then gathered with
375,000 other WYD pilgrims to watch a presentation of the Stations of the Cross. It was a
very moving experience. After watching the Stations of the Cross we trekked homeward to
our hotel where we all gathered and a meaningful session of praying and sharing our
experiences with one another. It was a great way to end another eventful day, and to
prepare ourselves for the Vigil ahead!

The best thing that I saw today was the Vatican exhibit at the ROM
(museum). I was amazingly touched by what I saw in that exhibit. The main part of the
gallery consisted of sketches by Michaelangelo of his plans for the Sistine Chapel. In his
works, I clearly could see the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that brought out the beauty
of everything in the works. The most amazing thing there was a relic that contained a
piece of the cross upon which Christ was crucified. To see a piece of this sacred object
put me in awe and made me realize the importance of Jesus' sacrifice for our salvation,
and I saw it with my own eyes. Being so close to part of the resurrection has helped me
realize the importance of this pilgrimage and being part of the resurrection by being a
member of the body of Christ.

Today was quite possibly the best day of the entire week so far. The day
started of in the same not-so-exciting way that the previous days began, with us going to
catechesis looking to fall asleep again. But apparently there was another plan for us.
Todays speaker was Cardinal Bevilacqua and he was extremely amazing!! We also found out
that we could have confession during the service…so I went and I must say…I
definitely felt a tremendous weight lift of me. It was amazing. From the second I got out
of confession my day steadily improved. For lunch we all went to Harvey's and it was quite
possibly the best double bacon cheese burger I've ever eaten. Then when we all split up,
and Brian, Mary Ellen, and Patrick found Kerri Russell (from the WB's
"Felicity")so we chased her down and got a picture taken with her. It wasn't
that cool….O_0. A little later we saw Mike's band played for us again but this time
it was acoustic and we all danced and sang along with St. Maria Gorettie's. At the end of
the day we did stations of the cross and that was especially moving. It was extremely
realistic and I almost felt like it was happening right in front of me. We then came back
to the hotel and we held a prayer meeting in our room. Awesome day for an Awesome God!
