July 29, 2002, Day 8

Hello, hello!!!

Travel Log

This morning we woke up at 6am to get ready to head home. This was early, but not as early as the 3am wake-up-call the other group received for their flight. After eating a really fast breakfast of bacon, eggs, potatoes, and a biscuit, we loaded up the bus and headed to the airport. At the airport we checked in our bags and said our goodbyes to Magdalena. She did a great job with the whole trip, and even complimented our group on being very flexible and fun, as well as having a great attitude. After a quick flight to Newark, NJ, we boarded our last flight for home. The flight seemed long at 5 hours, but maybe more so because we were anxious to get home and exhausted from the whole week. We landed at 2:30pm Phoenix time to be met by a whole bunch of parents and friends. In the airport, we also got to see Fita at work - after she did an announcement we all cheered which greatly embarassed her. With the pilgrimage over, everyone went home and crashed. It was an awesome experience - one that all of us will never forget.
